The
Sports Bug (Fun Bug with Standard chassis in South Africa -1600 units),
a 1303 Super Beetle, came with distinctive red and black 'waist' stripes,
matt black trim, door handles, wipers and bumpers (these also yellow 'trimmed'
with tape) and Lemmertz GT wheels. Sales brochures featured black headlamp
surrounds but some cars were fitted with the standard chrome.The interior
featured sports bucket seats, 'leather' sports steering wheel and gearshift
knob. Engine was standard 1600 and exhaust fitted with black finished
taper-tip tail pipes..
